Horticulture Specialist
Overview
Individual must possess the necessary skills to learn and adapt to companyβs procedures for ornamentals and landscape services. Professionalism and customer service is the foundation for what the company has built its growth upon. Individual must at all times appear and present him or herself in a professional and courteous manner when servicing the clientele. Individual will be servicing landscape clients and primarily working in the horticulture division.
Functions
Major functions required of this position would include: knowledge of spreader and sprayer calibration, math and computing measurements by volume and area; proper safety when mixing and applying chemicals and knowledge of different chemicals and their uses; knowledge of plants, trees and flowers is a must, knowledge and implementation of proper pruning and planting techniques for the overall success of plant survival and healthiness. Individual will be required to possess a NC Pesticide Applicators License and maintain it through continuing educational classes and minimum pesticide credits required for recertification. Individual will be encouraged to obtain the Certified Plant Professional certification. Individual will be required to attend yearly trade seminars and educational classes or workshops to better educate and keep abreast of new products, techniques and trends within the industry. Individual should possess the knowledge to properly identify all plant types, insects and disease for problems which will efficiently and effectively service the company and the customer with proper recommendations to resolve any problems as they arise. Individual will possess the ability to read landscape plans and install plant material accordingly. The ability to lead others and manage multiple crews is a must with priority to safety, efficiency and quality of work.
Qualifications
Degree from a two or four year college in ornamentals and or landscape technology, landscape design, landscape architecture or landscape management is required. Individual must possess a NC Pesticide Applicators License and keep active during his or hers employment. Individual must be personable, professional, courteous, organized and attention to detail are all important. This individual should work in a team environment and adapt well as being a team player among other landscape employees.

Landscape Laborer
Overview
Individual must possess the necessary skills to learn and adapt to companyβs procedures for landscape maintenance services. Professionalism and customer service is the foundation for what the company has built its growth and reputation upon. Individual must at all times present him or herself in a professional and courteous manner when servicing the clientele. Individual will be assisting a crew servicing residential and commercial clientele with weekly and routine landscape maintenance services.
Functions
Major functions & abilities required of this position would include:
- Knowledge of general turf and ornamental services
- The ability to run all equipment from mowers, weed eaters, blowers, pruners and other small
- equipment
- The ability to adhere to safe efficient operations with a high level of quality workThe ability to be pro-active and determine problems that may arise and communicate well with supervisors to resolve and further prevent if necessary
- The ability to provide some degree of equipment maintenance and repairs as necessary to keep equipment in the best possible shape for efficient operations
- Inventory control to let supervisor know when parts or supplies are running low and need to be ordered.
- Proper Pruning techniques
- Proper turf & ornamental fertilization practices (spreader usage & calibration)
- Proper sod laying techniques
- Proper ornamental plants, shrubs and tree planting techniques
Qualifications
Individual must have a minimum of 3 years experience in landscape maintenance service. Individual must be personable, professional, courteous, organized and attention to detail are all important. This individual should and will work in a team environment and adapt well as being a team player among other landscape and turf technicians.

Lawn Care Technician
Overview
Individual must possess the necessary skills to learn and adapt to companyβs procedures for lawn care applications and services. Professionalism and customer service is the foundation for what the company has built its growth upon. Individual must at all times appear and present him or herself in a professional and courteous manner when servicing the clientele. Individual will be servicing lawn care clients and working primarily with turf.
Functions
Major functions required of this position would include: knowledge of spreader and sprayer calibration, math and computing measurements by volume and area, proper safety when mixing and applying chemicals and knowledge of different chemicals and their uses. Individual will be required to obtain a NC Pesticide Applicators License within 6 months of job acceptance. Individual will abide by and follow all pesticide laws and safety regulations when applying and or storing pesticides. Individual will be required to keep track of daily work sheets and log necessary information and tasks as required by his or hers supervisors. Individual will be required to attend yearly trade seminars and educational classes or workshops to better educate and keep abreast of new products, techniques and trends within the industry. Individual should have or quickly acquire the knowledge to properly identify all common grass types, insects and disease problems which will efficiently service the company and the customer with proper recommendations to resolve problems as they arise. Individual will be responsible for assisting in inventory control and notifying supervisors when inventory is getting low and new products need to be ordered.
Qualifications
Degree from a two or four year college in turf management or 5 years of experience on the job training is required. Individual must possess or obtain a NC Pesticide License within 6 months of job acceptance. Individual must be personable, professional, courteous, organized and attention to detail are all important. This individual should and will work in a team environment and adapt well as being a team player among other landscape and turf technicians.
